About The Position

The Sales Porter is responsible for greeting and assisting customers on the sales lot, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of vehicles and the lot, and supporting the sales team. This role ensures vehicles are well-positioned, visually appealing, and ready for customer interaction and test drives. The Sales Porter also prepares vehicles for delivery, shuttles vehicles between locations, monitors inventory for needs, and supports special events and merchandising efforts. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace and adhering to safety policies are key aspects of this position. Additional operational or clerical tasks may be assigned by management.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to safely operate a wide range of vehicles (manual a plus, not required)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must meet pre-employment screening requirements

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers on the sales lot with a friendly, approachable attitude.
  • Maintain the showroom and lot to ensure vehicles are clean, well-positioned, and visually appealing.
  • Move, stage, and organize new and pre-owned vehicles to support sales operations and maximize lot presentation.
  • Assist the sales team by locating and pulling vehicles for test drives and ensuring units are front-line ready.
  • Prepare vehicles for customer delivery, ensuring they are clean, fueled/charged, and properly displayed.
  • Shuttle vehicles between dealership locations, service, detail, and off-site areas as needed.
  • Monitor inventory for cleanliness, damage, or maintenance needs and report concerns promptly.
  • Support special events, lot resets, and daily merchandising efforts.
  • Keep the lot, parking areas, and workspaces clean, safe, and organized.
  • Follow all safety policies and report any conditions that could impact the safety of employees or customers.
  • Assist with additional operational or clerical tasks as assigned by management.
