About The Position

The Sales Operations Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the sales organization through data-driven insights, operational coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. This role supports sales performance, inventory optimization, and customer satisfaction by bridging Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and Operations. A core focus of this role includes proactively identifying and managing slow-moving and obsolete inventory (SLOBS), improving inventory health, and driving structured processes to maximize recovery value while minimizing risk. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Analytics, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Customer Operations, or a related analytical role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, and reporting tools preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing SLOBS or excess/obsolete inventory programs
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Background in demand or supply planning collaboration
  • Exposure to change management or continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Prosci, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of SAP / enterprise commercial systems
  • Interest in applying AI and automation to simplify work (hands‑on expertise not required)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor aging inventory and identify slow-moving, excess, and at-risk stock
  • Proactively detect inventory risks early in the lifecycle to maximize recovery value
  • Develop and execute inventory reduction strategies with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain
  • Coordinate promotions, liquidation strategies, and alternative channel strategies to drive sell-through
  • Analyze inventory trends and recommend actions to improve inventory health and working capital performance
  • Track and report on inventory reduction initiatives and outcomes
  • Classify inventory based on key risk attributes such as lifecycle status, demand variability, packaging changes, and shelf-life constraints
  • Support day-to-day sales operations, including order management, reporting, forecasting, and process coordination
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to track sales performance, customer trends, and operational metrics
  • Analyze sales and performance data to identify revenue opportunities and operational efficiencies
  • Assist with forecasting, demand planning, and pipeline tracking activities
  • Serve as a key coordination point across Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Operations
  • Monitor order status, backorders, allocation issues, and supply constraints; proactively communicate risks and resolution plans
  • Support replenishment planning and execution for key customer accounts
  • Assist in resolving customer issues related to inventory availability, shipment delays, and fulfillment gaps
  • Partner cross-functionally to enhance customer experience and improve operational responsiveness
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales and Customer teams by translating analytics into actionable insights
  • Lead cross-functional problem solving with Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain
  • Identify opportunities to convert at-risk inventory into commercial actions (e.g., promotions, re-routing, alternative channels)
  • Support customer-specific strategies to improve sell-through and reduce exposure
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify root causes of performance gaps and drive solutions
  • Design and implement structured decision frameworks for managing inventory risk
  • Define decision rights, escalation paths, and trade-off guidelines balancing financial recovery and customer impact
  • Establish governance forums to review inventory exposure and track actions
  • Develop decision trees for inventory disposition (e.g., discount, hold, reallocate, write-off)
  • Implement clear RACI models across stakeholders
  • Build automated dashboards and scalable reporting tools using BI platforms
  • Monitor trends, risks, and anomalies across sales, inventory, and operational performance
  • Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations and customer-specific plans
  • Define and track KPIs such as: Inventory recovery percentage, Early risk identification rate, Sell-through improvement, Inventory health metrics
  • Identify and drive improvements in operational workflows and reporting capabilities
  • Own and standardize processes for identifying and managing at-risk inventory
  • Support implementation of new tools, systems, and enhancements
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives focused on efficiency, customer satisfaction, and inventory optimization
