About The Position

The Client Consultant is responsible for developing and managing long-term relationships with a portfolio of customers; consulting with customers to ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs; and developing new business from existing customers (inside sales) – all with minimal supervision. This individual also develops and implements sales and order management strategies and processes to increase efficiency and revenue. Through the management of accounts and sales operations, this individual reduces friction for the Sales Team, allowing them to maximize their time pursuing new customers and growing the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, General Business, Product Merchandising, or other related field; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 3 – 5+ years of Sales Support or Sales Enablement/Operations experience
  • 2 – 3+ years of Project Management experience is strongly desired.
  • 2 – 3+ years working in Customer Portals and Internal ERP systems strongly desired.
  • Ability to influence, coach, and mentor team members – without having direct management responsibilities.
  • It has a customer-centric mindset, focusing on removing friction in external sales and optimizing internal sales.
  • Initiative-taker and a proactive problem solver, capable of functioning in a dynamic, fast-paced, change oriented environment with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to understand and assess business priorities and independently make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to work with substantial amounts of SKU and Customer Data
  • Collaborative collaborator with the ability to connect and work with employees at all levels, interacting effectively with senior management and staff to carry out the organization’s mission and objectives.
  • The ability to keep confidence and be a corporate example of professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal/written communication, and listening skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Pivot Table building experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build long-term, trusting relationships with customers by managing and supporting accounts with empathy, kindness, and a mindset of service.
  • Uses analytical and critical thinking skills and independent judgment to make decisions in the best interest of their customers and the business.
  • Make decisions on behalf of the Company with respect to customer projects and for all aspects of customer projects through completion.
  • Owns and operates the “Customer Card” in the ERP system, developing, implementing, and updating the process as needed.
  • Manages customer programs and portals, including customer portals, product pricing, and fixtures.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of each brand’s product offering and leverages their knowledge to proactively promote products to their customers, with the goal of maximizing customers’ value, upselling, and increasing sales (inside sales).
  • Uses knowledge of customer’s priorities to analyze customer patterns and adjust internal processes to create efficiencies between the customer and sales team.
  • Collaborates with the marketing team on behalf of the sales force for various projects.
  • Owns global sales tools, including the order management process, developing, implementing, training, and updating as needed, always striving to automate and increase efficiency.
  • Analyzes data and sales reports and develops solutions based on the data, such as new products to offer customers and substitutions for out-of-stock products.
  • Use data analytics and sales reports to recommend solutions for their portfolio of customers.
  • Manage new customer onboarding, including setting up in all systems and execution of customer agreements.
  • You must use your own judgment to select and execute the proper type of agreement for each customer, including agreements with specific terms for commissions, seasonal agreements, and fixture agreements.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for the Wholesale website and any online web registration, including the approval management for account activation and logins.
  • Manages the timing of execution for product delivery to stores for yearly releases and projects (new product releases, seasonal product releases, product resets, merchandising, planogramming, and shipment).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
