About The Position

Fairwinds Technologies designs and integrates communications, networking and information technology solutions to serve defense and civilian agencies around the world. As a Junior Sales Operations Analyst, you will play an important role in driving the growth and success of Fairwinds by supporting the identification, pursuit, and closing of new business opportunities within the US Government for communications, networking, and information technology solutions. You will assist the sales team with tactical sales opportunities, working collaboratively with all company divisions to prepare and deliver qualified proposals and quotes. You will also use your organizational skills to help maintain the sales forecast and help drive the customer contact plans. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully working entry to high-value projects in the government and commercial technologies domain. You should be a highly motivated, result-driven individual with exceptional communication and analytical skills. This position will be remote, with expected 10% travel to Aberdeen Proving Ground and other U.S. locations as applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Management
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience processing customer orders including preparing company quotes.
  • Ability to not shy away from customer relationship challenges.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
  • Attitude of how it can be done, not how it cannot be done.
  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain an Active Secret or higher DoD Security Clearance
  • Ability to work independently.
  • A willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and end users.

Nice To Haves

  • Sales experience with DLA MAAC and G2R requirements and how to build those proposals.
  • Understanding of relevant US government agencies and their procurement processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to travel to Maryland, Washington D.C. area on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities

  • Support the VP, IDIQ Programs and the Sales team with proposals for various contract vehicles (DLA Maritime Acquisition Advancement Contract (MAAC), DLA Gateway to Readiness, OASIS+, and others).
  • Provide sales support to the Sales team. Be able to assist with building proposals, to include all costs and recommended markups.
  • Help write responses to Requests for Information on DLA MAAC, DLA G2R, GSA OASIS+, and other Sam.gov open solicitations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with US government and Prime Contractor customers to understand their needs and shape solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales and Operations divisions to coordinate execution of sales plans and proposals.
  • Participate in sales reviews, providing regular updates to senior management on the status of opportunities and potential risks.
  • Monitor and assess the competitive landscape, tracking competitor activities and adjusting sales strategies accordingly.
  • Work with management to generate and maintain the sales bookings forecast.
  • Assist the sales team with planning customer contacts to optimize information gathering and opportunity influencing.
