About The Position

The Sales and Marketing Director is responsible for managing the community's census by initiating and maintaining relationships with community organizations, hospitals, and other referral sources to generate admissions. This role works closely with all levels of the organization to ensure the community's image and reputation are stellar and align with company values, aiming to make the community the desired option for prospective residents and their families. The position requires achieving community census goals and annual budget projections, generating leads, scheduling tours, advancing the sales process, and meeting daily/weekly/monthly goals. The Director acts as a liaison between the community and the outside community, works with local agencies to foster a positive image and encourage referrals, and participates in industry trade shows. They develop strategies to maximize admissions, including daily contact with potential referral sources like hospitals, physicians, insurers, case management companies, and health care agencies. The role involves scheduling screenings for potential residents with the Executive Director and/or Resident Care Director, conducting screenings if necessary to determine the level of care, services, equipment needs, and insurance coverage. Coordination of admissions with the Executive Director and/or Resident Care Director is also a key function, as is the ability to complete all admission paperwork. The Director must learn and maintain an understanding of current regulations governing assisted living facilities, collect data for monthly reports, and attend weekly admissions/operations meetings. Participation in quality improvement by identifying customer service issues and reporting them to the Executive Director, along with continuing appropriate education, is expected. The role requires adherence to company and community policies and procedures, participation in safety, quality improvement, and infection control initiatives, and contributing to the community's public image. The ability to drive a company vehicle is required. The Director ensures residents and families receive high-quality service with compassion and recognizes individual needs and rights. They must report occupational exposures, work-related injuries, and illnesses according to facility policy, and complete all assigned training and skills competency. Participation in life safety and emergency drills, training, and fulfilling responsibilities during emergency plan implementation or activation, including assisting with resident evacuation, is mandatory. Maintaining confidentiality of Protected Health Information and reporting non-compliance, retaliation, discrimination, or any suspicion of a crime is critical. Adherence to scheduled shifts and arriving on time is required. Other related duties as required by State Regulation are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED.
  • Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment.

  • Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, agitated residents.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents in emergency situations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information, including verbal, written and electronic communications.
  • Report non-compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.
  • Protect residents from abuse and cooperate with all investigations.
  • Report any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor and/or administrator.
  • Report any retaliation or discrimination to the Human Resource Director and the Compliance Officer.
  • Fulfill individual responsibility to report any suspicion of a crime to law enforcement and the state agency.
  • Must adhere to scheduled shifts assigned by Executive Director or Supervisor and arrive to your work station at the scheduled time.

  • Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
