About The Position

The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for driving strategic business growth within the region through the acquisition of new business, expansion of named existing accounts, and development and execution of segment strategies. This role serves as a senior commercial leader with responsibility for regional growth targets, complex customer engagements, and high-value business opportunities. The position acts as a primary commercial representative of Samsung SDI to major customers and high-growth companies, leading executive-level customer relationships, complex negotiations, and cross-functional alignment to achieve long-term business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of sales, business development, or strategic account management experience in a B2B environment.
  • Proven success growing strategic accounts and winning new business.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships and establish trust with key stakeholders across functions and levels.
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships and commercial negotiations.
  • Ability to develop account growth strategies, analyze market data, and support business planning.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across customer and internal leadership teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in a large, global company and/or technical manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new business acquisition efforts across large strategic accounts and emerging high-growth companies within the region.
  • Maintain full commercial ownership of assigned existing customer accounts, driving retention, growth, profitability, and long-term strategic positioning.
  • Develop and execute regional segment strategies, account plans, and growth initiatives aligned with company objectives and market opportunities.
  • Own revenue, pipeline, and growth targets for assigned accounts, opportunities, and strategic market segments within the region.
  • Identify, qualify, prioritize, and pursue new business opportunities, leading the commercial strategy from initial engagement through quotation, negotiation, award, and launch.
  • Serve as the primary commercial face of Samsung SDI to major customers and prospects, including large, high-profile, and strategically important companies.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key customer stakeholders across Purchasing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Program Management, and Executive Leadership.
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations including pricing, contracts, commercial terms, supply agreements, and long-term business arrangements.
  • Define and execute winning account and pursuit strategies based on deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, competitive activity, and Samsung SDI’s value proposition.
  • Drive white-space growth within existing and target accounts by identifying new applications, programs, business lines, and partnership opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional internal teams to support customer strategy, quotations, negotiations, issue resolution, and successful execution of commercial commitments.
  • Partner closely with engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, quality, and product management to align internal resources with customer requirements and business priorities.
  • Analyze sales performance, customer trends, market conditions, and competitive intelligence to identify risks, opportunities, and strategic actions needed to achieve growth objectives.
  • Develop business cases, strategic recommendations, and customer growth plans for presentation to Samsung SDI leadership.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations on account strategy, pipeline, revenue outlook, market developments, and major commercial opportunities.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by proactively managing issues, aligning internal support, and delivering consistently on commitments.
  • Maintain accurate and current sales pipeline, account plans, forecasts, commercial activity, and revenue outlook, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Influence business strategy, product direction, and investment priorities through customer insight, market intelligence, and competitive analysis.
  • Serve as Key Account Manager for major strategic accounts with significant revenue potential, business complexity, or long-term strategic importance.
  • Lead multiple large, complex opportunities and customer relationships simultaneously, balancing near-term execution with long-term account development.
  • Drive regional business growth through disciplined opportunity management, account penetration strategies, and strong commercial execution.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to less experienced sales team members and may supervise account managers or other commercial staff as needed.
  • Lead internal escalation and resolution of commercial, operational, delivery, and accounts receivable issues impacting customer satisfaction or business continuity.
  • Oversee customer pricing, commercial terms, purchase order alignment, and transaction-related matters in coordination with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain.
  • Support development of annual operating plans, sales budgets, forecasts, and key performance metrics to measure progress against business objectives.
  • Represent Samsung SDI in high-level customer meetings, strategic business discussions, and industry engagements that strengthen market presence and commercial opportunity.
  • Assist with other duties as needed or assigned by Management.
