About The Position

Peters’ Heat Treating, Inc. is seeking a Sales Manager who enjoys building customer relationships, supporting a sales team, and driving business growth. The ideal candidate is energized by working with customers, improving sales processes, and helping a team succeed through organization and accountability. This role requires a balance of motivation, mentorship, and leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with heat treating processes and/or aerospace material specifications (AMS) is highly valued, as is a passion for problem-solving, creating customer confidence, and contributing to business growth. Requirements

  • Manager level leadership experience
  • 3+ years of outside technical sales and customer relationship management
  • Sales operations, lead generation, and data management expertise
  • Heat treating industry background, metallurgical processing experience, and/or knowledge of AMS specifications.
  • Strong technical skills with CRM, Excel, and ERP platforms

Responsibilities

  • Mentor, coach, and inspire the sales team to achieve high performance.
  • Strengthen engagement and retention by fostering a people-first culture.
  • Translate management decisions into clear communication for staff alignment.
  • Act as a galvanizer who connects the team to organizational objectives.
  • Operate as an outside salesman, sourcing and nurturing leads, to grow new business.
  • Serve as a visible presence in the market, engaging existing customers face-to-face to build trust, uncover needs, and deliver solutions.
  • Contribute ideas and execute detailed sales strategies that drive growth.
  • Analyze win/loss jobs, cost of sale, and pricing models across customer segments.
  • Lead contract negotiations and implement profitable pricing structures.
  • Advance sales processes and customer communication for stronger outcomes.
  • Attend trade shows and seminars to represent the company and connect with prospects.
  • Maintain accurate sales data and reporting to support informed business decisions.
  • Utilize reporting systems including CRM, ERP, and Excel platforms.
  • Coordinate collaboration between sales, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Immerse yourself in the company’s culture, team, and operations to drive alignment.
