As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, implementing sales and marketing strategies to maximize the hotel's profits while maintaining customer satisfaction, and meeting and exceeding forecasted and budgeted revenue goals. You will manage group and transient accounts to maximize business potential, negotiate group and transient business and contracts that meet or exceed hotel revenue goals, and make on-site and field presentations to prospective clients. You will actively pursue new clients through creative/innovative sales techniques and aggressive prospecting, identify opportunities to upsell customers through food & beverage offerings, room upgrades, AV and lighting upgrades, and spa services (if applicable), and drive strategies to develop long-term business relationships and repeat business. You will enthusiastically and proactively sell the Hotel concept to group and catering prospects in a way that best illustrates the brand's identity as innovative and new. Prospecting for new group business will involve a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, trade shows, attending community functions, blitzes, internet prospecting, and supplier partnerships. You will develop long-term business relationships and consistently book repeat business, attend tradeshows, make on-site field presentations, and conduct outside sales calls to prospective clients. Conducting unique site inspections that create a WOW experience for the customer is also a key responsibility. You will create customized menus and proposals, respond to all customer inquiries within 24 hours or sooner, and maintain accurate information on all bookings, specifically program details, client correspondence, traces, and to-do lists. Producing and distributing accurate group resumes within the timeframe set by the hotel and providing client support, including processing client leads, investigating hotel and preferred guest program issues, and acquiring or sending collateral materials, are essential. You will also provide hotel support by following up on outstanding responses, calling, faxing, and emailing clients with responses, and answering requests. Report generation as needed is also part of the role. You will maintain a liaison with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients. Being an active part of the property team, supporting and developing the desired Azul Hospitality culture, driving product quality, and ensuring a unique guest experience at every opportunity are crucial. Taking pride in the overall look and feel of the hotel and maintaining a refreshing attitude focused on positive, friendly interactions with guests and staff are expected. Developing and maintaining strong interdepartmental relationships and open communication lines to assure efficient transfer of information, and scheduling meetings and business group activities at the hotel are also key functions.
