Assumes responsibility for achieving the annual sales and gross profit objectives of the sales territory by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate sales staff. This role supervises the sales force of the territory, ensuring customers are serviced exceptionally. The manager regularly assesses sales force strengths and weaknesses, develops performance plans, and recruits new talent. Key responsibilities include setting sales goals, assigning customer accounts, conducting territory analyses, and developing marketing strategies. The position involves new business development, maintaining high-level customer contact, expanding supplier relationships, and writing annual marketing and sales plans. The Sales Manager also assists in negotiating pricing, preparing sales contracts, and reviewing bids. They regularly meet with customers and the sales team to gather feedback on satisfaction and service quality. The role involves formulating and recommending sales policies, analyzing competition, conducting sales meetings, and representing the company at industry events. Coordination with other departments, budget analysis, and servicing key accounts are also part of the role. Additionally, the Sales Manager serves as a mentor and coach to other sales personnel.
