About The Position

The Sales Manager of the Groups and Events (G&E) team is responsible for selling Cineplex Entertainment venues, group event experiences, and related products throughout their designated territory as event venues while supporting event logistics with the client and venue operations teams. The Sales Manager is also responsible for identifying, prospecting, securing, and growing new accounts and helping clients reach their event goals. In addition, the Sales Manager works closely with theatre and venue operations to ensure proper event execution as well as various business units within the Cineplex ecosystem. The role requires flexibility to support business demands, including attendance at trade shows, networking events, client meetings, site visits, and larger client events, which may occasionally occur outside regular business hours, including evenings or weekends. This is a hybrid position with three days in office or Cineplex venues in your territory. Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education required
  • Minimum 5 years of B2B sales and service experience, including demonstrated success in outbound prospecting, new-business development, or territory sales
  • Strong negotiation, objection-handling, and closing skills
  • Strong understanding of the market, industry trends, local business community, and potential client segments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confident cold outreach, professional presentations, and relationship-building with new prospects
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of outbound activity, multiple opportunities, competing priorities, and tight event timelines with strong organization, attention to detail, and time management
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and driven to deliver on new-business, activity, pipeline, and revenue targets
  • Demonstrated ability to independently research prospects, identify decision-makers, and develop targeted outreach strategies
  • Advanced working knowledge of LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM systems, and MS365 programs such as Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Power BI
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hotel, theatre, convention, hospitality, entertainment, or unique venue sales experience is an asset
  • Background in event logistics is preferred, such as coordinating setup and managing workback schedules

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with clients and operations teams to ensure exceptional execution of events from inception to post-event follow-up
  • Build, maintain, and grow relationships with prospects and clients across the region to support new business, repeat bookings, referrals, and account growth
  • Generate new business through proactive territory management, targeted prospecting, cold outreach, networking, client site visits, open houses, and attendance at relevant industry and community events
  • Develop and maintain a territory prospecting plan that identifies priority industries, organizations, decision-makers, and event opportunities
  • Manage a self-generated sales pipeline from first outreach through proposal, contract, event handoff, and post-event follow-up
  • Negotiate and prepare proposals, contracts, event profiles, and invoices through CRM, while maintaining accurate records of outbound activity, pipeline status, and account history
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the film department, operations, finance, marketing, and other internal stakeholders

Benefits
