About The Position

The Sales Leadership Program is a 12-month development program designed to immerse participants in LG&E business operations and cultivate leadership skills. This program combines on-the-job experiences, project assignments, and formal training. Participants will lead and administer special projects in sales execution, supporting a general sales manager and their team of territory managers. The role involves collaborating within a team to develop customer-focused solutions and sales strategies, troubleshooting customer problems onsite, and recommending solutions. Additionally, participants will demonstrate products and applications to new customers or assist senior sales professionals. The program includes cold calling to generate new business, managing a portfolio of customer accounts through sales promotion, negotiating supply agreements, and providing dedicated account service. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers is crucial, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or Communications.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience including internships.
  • Demonstrated leadership through campus activities, clubs, sports, or community involvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Consistently exceed goals and demonstrate accountability through excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in a 12-month development program to learn LG&E business operations and develop leadership skills through on-the-job experiences, project assignments, and formal training.
  • Lead and administer special projects in sales execution supporting a general sales manager and their team of territory managers.
  • Collaborate in a team environment to develop customer-focused solutions and sales strategies.
  • Troubleshoot specific customer problems onsite, sharing technical knowledge and recommending effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate products and applications to new account customers or assist senior sales professionals in customer demonstrations.
  • Engage in cold calling both onsite and via phone to potential customers to generate new business.
  • Supervise a portfolio of customer accounts by promoting sales, negotiating product supply agreements, and providing dedicated account service.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers to meet their needs while ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
