This role ensures excellence in customer service in the store by upholding high retail standards to ensure an in-store experience that aligns with company standards. It involves initiating conversations with customers, building relationships, identifying interests, and suggesting products. The role also includes assisting customers in the fitting room, recommending products aligned with customer needs, promoting the rewards program to build brand loyalty and achieve sign-up goals, and staying informed about new products and trends. The Sales Lead consistently achieves personal sales targets and contributes to overall store performance, providing information and advice on product performance, features, and specifications. Additionally, the role maintains visual merchandising standards, ensures the sales floor is clean, organized, and well-stocked, and assists in daily store operations including opening and closing, freight processing, accurately processing transactions, handling cash, and maintaining point-of-sale integrity. It also involves following company and store policies, procedures, and operational guidelines, assigning tasks to team members, and reacting quickly to injuries and reporting them. The role participates in Loss Prevention Audits and complies with company loss prevention policies to minimize store shrink. In the absence of other leadership team members, the Sales Lead acts as Manager on Duty, regularly communicates employee concerns to the Store Manager, and assists with onboarding and training new team members in sales behaviors, customer service expectations, and store procedures. They also address customer concerns professionally and in accordance with company guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Retail or customer-facing experience preferred but not required.
  • Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.
  • This role requires a minimum availability of 30 hours per week including one weekend day and rotating holidays, additional availability a plus.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and team members.
  • Operate office equipment and technology (i.e., cash register, computers, phones, scanners, etc.).
  • Stand and move throughout the store during scheduled shifts.
  • Walking and moving to assist customers, retrieve merchandise and recover the store.
  • Lifting and carrying, ability to maneuver and/or lift 25 lbs. regularly, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to push/pull full racks of merchandise for restocking the store.
  • Ability to reach, stretch, bend, stoop, and crouch to retrieve items from shelves, restock, and maintain store cleanliness.
  • Manual labor is required occasionally to assemble displays and/or rearrange the store layout.
  • Vision to accurately read labels, assist customers, and tasks that require attention to detail.
  • Ability to use fine manipulation, and grasp with hands to sort and organize clothing, ex. place on hangers, folding, organize in color/size order.

Responsibilities

  • Follows company and store policies, procedures, and operational guidelines; communicates concerns to store leadership.
  • Assigns tasks to team members as directed to support operational needs.
  • React quickly to all customers and/or employee injuries and report them immediately to the Manager on Duty.
  • Participates in Loss Prevention Audits, understands and complies with company loss prevention policies to minimize store shrink.
  • Acts as Manager on Duty in the absence of the other members of the leadership team.
  • Regularly communicates any employee’s concerns directly to the Store Manager.
  • Assists with onboarding and training new team members in sales behaviors, customer service expectations, and store procedures.
  • Addresses customer concerns professionally and in accordance with company guidelines.
