About The Position

This role is a sales-floor leadership position focused on enhancing the guest experience and driving sales execution during the summer season in Rehoboth Beach. The Sales Lead II will work alongside experienced team members to energize the sales floor, reinforce selling methods, support newer associates, and ensure coaching translates into consistent daily performance. The primary focus is on leading the daily guest experience by modeling effective engagement, guiding customers, and reinforcing sales techniques, rather than back-office management. The goal is to create a memorable experience for guests and help the team build confidence and sales effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in retail, hospitality, food/beverage, specialty retail, tourism, customer experience, sales, training, coaching, or team leadership.
  • Demonstrated comfort proactively engaging customers, starting conversations, asking questions, and recommending products.
  • Ability to model and coach a structured selling approach in a warm, natural, non-pushy way.
  • Ability to support newer associates through live feedback, encouragement, and example-setting.
  • Strong communication skills with guests, peers, senior associates, and store leadership.
  • Ability to stay steady, positive, and useful during high-traffic shifts.
  • Strong follow-through and reliability; this role requires visible consistency.
  • Comfort receiving coaching and adjusting quickly.
  • Ability to notice patterns and communicate them clearly: guest questions, missed opportunities, associate training gaps, and repeated execution issues.
  • Weekend, evening, holiday, and peak summer availability strongly preferred.
  • Prior shift lead, keyholder, trainer, peer mentor, camp counselor, team captain, hospitality lead, or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
  • Interest in food, tea, cooking, gifting, wellness, flavor, hospitality, or sensory retail strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Model warm, proactive guest engagement throughout the shift.
  • Help guests discover spices, teas, blends, sugars, salts, gifts, recipes, tea bar beverages, and flavor pairings.
  • Use discovery questions to understand what guests are cooking, gifting, sipping, celebrating, or trying to solve.
  • Reinforce our selling method through live example-setting, quick coaching moments, and consistent language.
  • Help newer associates build confidence with greetings, sampling, product storytelling, add-ons, basket-building, and closing the sale.
  • Keep the team focused on the shift’s sales and hospitality priorities.
  • Help translate coaching from senior sales mentors into consistent team behavior.
  • Watch for patterns in guest questions, missed selling opportunities, associate confidence gaps, and floor execution.
  • Communicate clear observations, wins, training needs, and follow-up items to store leadership.
  • Support strong floor rhythm during peak summer traffic so the store feels warm, organized, energetic, and guest-ready.
  • Create small “WOW” moments that guests remember after they leave the beach.
