D.R. Horton’s internship program provides students with hands-on experience, professional development, and exposure to career opportunities within the company, its affiliated business functions, and the homebuilding and homebuying process. Interns are assigned to a primary department or functional area and gain experience through departmental rotations, project work, administrative support, research, reporting, training, office and field-based activities, jobsite observation, systems support, and other learning opportunities based on departmental needs, location, and business priorities. The intern supports daily operations and assigned business needs, learns departmental responsibilities and company policies and procedures, and collaborates with team members and cross-functional departments. The program includes training and other learning opportunities and provides exposure to potential career paths, including opportunities that may lead to full-time employment following graduation. Assignments may take place in office, field, jobsite, corporate, remote, or hybrid settings. Physical requirements vary by assignment and location. Overtime and travel, including occasional overnight travel, may be required.
