About The Position

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor leads and enables a team of associates to deliver an excellent customer experience. The role includes coaching and training associates, delegating and following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Supervisors handle customer-facing activities such as greeting customers, identifying needs and solutions, and closing sales, as well as non-customer-facing work such as down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery. They also help maintain store safety by conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, and reinforcing safe work and lifting practices. The supervisor works with leaders to identify practices that support sales and service objectives and communicates those practices to the team. They may supervise associates in other departments as needed, which calls for broad product knowledge and the ability to engage associates and customers across departments. They communicate concerns, issues, praise, and morale to management. They may occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.
