Hoegemeyer is seeking a Sales Field Agronomist to join their growing sales team. This role will serve New York, Pennsylvania, and the Delmarva regions, requiring regular travel and candidates to reside within the territory. The position is ideal for someone passionate about providing solutions to district sales managers, dealers, and growers, and who desires to be a leader on a sales team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five to seven years of agronomy sales experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Copilot
  • Must be able to sell, negotiate, influence, resolve conflict, and coach.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a rural environment.
  • Ability to travel with some overnights required.
  • Ability to pass a driving record background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Educating and empowering individuals is preferred.
  • Agronomy and crop production experience is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and exhibit professional agronomy salesmanship through on-farm sales calls with District Sales Managers (DSM’s) and dealers for both existing and prospective customers.
  • Build relationships, utilize sales tactics, and conduct value-added negotiations.
  • Educate and empower the sales team to deliver a best-in-class grower experience with sound agronomic advice and optimized product management.
  • Lead local trials and implement an agronomy communications plan to support grower education and sales growth.
  • Support the agronomic development of DSM's and dealers through virtual and in-person agronomic and product presentations.
  • Maintain thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of Hoegemeyer seed products and services, including digital tools like Granular Insights.
  • Demonstrate integrity, determination, adaptability, passion, and collaboration with team members and customers.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate consistently with peers, supporting functions, leaders, and external partners.
  • Anticipate market opportunities and threats, and position the sales team to react, adapt, and overcome.
  • Troubleshoot customer concerns and identify and deliver mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Proactively lead, plan, and manage various aspects of product and agronomy at the team and brand level.
