SS&C Technologies•Remote - Maryland, US, VA
•$140,000 - $175,000•Remote

About The Position

SS&C Blue Prism is hiring a senior, self-directed Public Sector sales hunter to develop net-new business across Federal civilian, Department of Defense, and State & Local government accounts. The role is based in the Washington, DC metropolitan region, and residency in DC, Northern Virginia, or Maryland is required; relocation is not available. The Sales Executive is responsible for sourcing and qualifying opportunities, navigating government acquisition processes, and closing business while working with SS&C’s partner ecosystem and internal teams. The position calls for an established government sales record, agency relationships, strong technical fluency, and personal accountability for results. The role sells SS&C Blue Prism’s intelligent automation platform, including AI-driven document processing, agentic and robotic process automation, and orchestration. Solutions may be delivered as SaaS, in FedRAMP-authorized cloud environments, or on premises, based on agency security and data-residency needs. The Sales Executive leads the sales cycle, discovery, demonstrations, proof-of-value scoping, capture strategy, pricing, teaming, and contract-vehicle selection, while involving solution engineering and other resources when needed. The role co-sells with GSIs, resellers, government aggregators, and other channel partners, and represents SS&C Blue Prism at Public Sector events in the National Capital Region. Travel is 30–60%, primarily within the DC region and to state capitals and partner sites. SS&C offers a comprehensive total rewards package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) plan with company match; paid time off, holidays, and parental leave; and professional development reimbursement. The stated base salary range for Maryland and Virginia is $140,000–$175,000 plus uncapped commissions. Employees may also be considered for a discretionary annual bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based on individual and business performance and company discretion.

Requirements

  • Must live in the Washington, DC metropolitan region: DC, Northern Virginia, or Maryland; relocation is not available.
  • At least 7 years selling enterprise software, intelligent automation, AI, workflow, or SaaS solutions to U.S. Federal Government agencies.
  • Verifiable history of self-generated pipeline and net-new government customer acquisition, with the ability to discuss sourced and closed opportunities in detail.
  • Experience selling AI-based or machine-learning-driven SaaS software and services to government, delivered both in cloud and on premises, and ability to explain deployment trade-offs to agency stakeholders.
  • Consistent attainment against an annual new-business quota of $1.5M or more, with examples of multi-year, six- and seven-figure government awards.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State procurement lifecycles, budget cycles, appropriations, end-of-fiscal-year dynamics, FAR-based contracting, GSA MAS, SEWP, state cooperative contracts, set-asides, and teaming.
  • Experience selling through and with Public Sector channel partners, resellers, aggregators, and systems integrators, including structuring teaming arrangements and managing partner-sourced pursuits.
  • Technical fluency in automation, AI/ML, integration patterns, identity and security controls, and cloud architecture sufficient to lead discovery, conduct initial demonstrations, and scope proofs of value without an engineer present.
  • Ability to own territory strategy, deal strategy, and executive relationships independently and serve as the most senior SS&C Blue Prism representative in an account.
  • Ability to sell to both business and IT stakeholders and build relationships with agency executives, program managers, and contracting officers.
  • Strong focus on pipeline, revenue, and profit; organizational skills; timely CRM hygiene; and accurate forecasting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce government-grade proposals, capability statements, and executive briefings.

Responsibilities

  • Self-generate most of the sales pipeline through outbound prospecting, agency and program research, industry events, and partner-sourced leads across Federal, DoD, and State & Local accounts.
  • Build and maintain a documented territory plan covering target agencies, named programs, funding sources, incumbent landscape, and acquisition timing.
  • Qualify opportunities against mission need, budget authority, acquisition path, and executive sponsorship, and disqualify unsuitable opportunities early.
  • Own the full sales cycle from first meeting through award, including capture strategy, pricing, teaming, and contract-vehicle selection.
  • Sell intelligent automation solutions as SaaS, in FedRAMP-authorized cloud environments, or on premises, matching deployment models to agency security and data-residency requirements.
  • Lead discovery, demonstrations, and proof-of-value scoping with minimal pre-sales support; involve solution engineering for technical depth as appropriate.
  • Navigate government procurement processes, including GSA MAS, NASA SEWP, state cooperative contracts, partner-held vehicles, contracting officers, set-asides, and sole-source justifications where appropriate.
  • Coordinate with the SS&C Blue Prism Partner Account team to align partner-sourced and partner-influenced opportunities with territory plans and customer mission outcomes.
  • Run joint pursuit plans with GSIs, Federal and SLED resellers, and aggregators.
  • Enable new channel partners on Public Sector positioning and help them become self-sufficient.
  • Represent SS&C Blue Prism at Public Sector industry events and associations in the National Capital Region.
  • Act as the senior SS&C Blue Prism presence in assigned accounts, set strategy, run deals, and escalate when executive involvement can advance an opportunity.
  • Maintain current CRM records for in-quarter and future-quarter opportunities and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Provide market, competitive, and product feedback to product, marketing, and leadership teams.
  • Travel 30–60% of the time, primarily within the DC region and to state capitals and partner sites.
