About The Position

Anthropic is hiring an Applied AI Architect to serve as a pre-sales technical advisor for state and local government agencies. The role helps agencies understand Claude’s value and envision how to integrate and deploy it within their technology stacks. The architect combines technical expertise and customer-facing skills to design LLM solutions for complex mission needs while upholding standards for safety and reliability. Working with Sales, Product, and Engineering, the architect guides customers from technical discovery and initial evaluation through deployment. The role includes helping customers understand Claude’s capabilities, develop evaluations, and design scalable architectures that maximize the value of Anthropic’s AI systems. Frequent travel to customer sites is expected for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building.

Requirements

Prior experience working with U.S. federal, state, and/or local agencies.
At least 5 years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or Technical Account Manager.
Experience navigating complex buying cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
Ability to build relationships and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, including C-suite executives and engineering and IT teams.
Strong technical communication skills, including translating customer requirements between technical and business stakeholders.
Experience designing scalable cloud architectures and integrating with enterprise systems.
Familiarity with Python.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including explaining complex topics clearly to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Ability and interest in collaborating across organizations, working through trade-offs, and balancing competing priorities.
Passion for creative, safe, and beneficial uses of technology that advance safe AI systems.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with common LLM frameworks and tools, or a background in machine learning or data science.

Responsibilities

Partner with account executives to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
Serve as the primary technical advisor to enterprise customers throughout their Claude adoption journey, from discovery and initial evaluation through deployment.
Coordinate internally across teams and stakeholders to drive customer success.
Support customers building with Claude Code, the Claude API, and Claude for Enterprise.
Create and deliver technical content tailored to different audiences, from engineering deep dives to executive-focused business value discussions.
Guide technical architecture decisions and help customers integrate Claude into existing technology stacks.
Help customers develop evaluation frameworks to measure Claude’s performance for their use cases.
Identify common integration patterns and share insights with Product and Engineering teams.
Travel frequently to customer sites for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building.
Maintain strong knowledge of developments in LLM capabilities and implementation patterns.
