About The Position

The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing support for key accounts and managing the tiers that support Commercial Equipment customers on designated programs. They will enable excellence and consistency in overall customer support and responsiveness. This role serves as a key technical and commercial support resource, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, program requirements, and contractual commitments. The Sales Engineer manages the customer scorecard, quarterly performance checkpoints, customer surveys, and customer portal maintenance. They also support all commercial activities for engineering changes, customer portal entries, price hygiene, piece price variance, and on-time quotations. Additionally, they act as a liaison between customers and internal teams (engineering, operations, quality, supply chain) to ensure proactive communication and timely resolution of commercial and technical matters. The role ensures adherence to customer-specific processes, standards, and reporting requirements while driving consistency across customer interactions and deliverables. It also supports ongoing customer relationships by monitoring performance, identifying risks or gaps, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and program success.

Requirements

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers.

  • Willingness to ask questions, learn fast, and escalate when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Able to travel 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Develops strong and effective internal and external relationships.
  • Participates in the development and submittal of customer quotations for assigned tiers following the defined process.
  • Communicates directly with customers on assigned responsibilities and tasks.
  • Assists with account setup, lead-times, order quantities, payment terms, product pricing, shipping terms, supplier codes, supplier portals, and tier-related items within the regional sales team.
  • Supports delivery, payables, quality, warranty, and other customer-related issues, escalations, and discrepancies between customers and the internal organization matrix as needed.
