  • Hands-on experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Familiarity with equipment data systems (MES, CMMS, SCADA, PLC interfaces, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of assigned equipment, including operating principles, key components, failure modes, and process interactions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and primary point of contact for technical issues and improvement initiatives
  • Monitor equipment performance, downtime trends, and bottlenecks to identify root causes of reliability issues.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to improve mean time between failure (MTBF) and reduce mean time to repair (MTTR).
  • Partner with maintenance and operations teams to drive overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Analyze scrap data to determine equipment-related contributors to yield loss.
  • Prioritize and execute improvement projects to improve stability and repeatability
  • Collaborate with process engineering to align equipment performance with process requirements.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), troubleshooting guides, checklists, and preventive maintenance (PM) routines for equipment technicians.
  • Train technicians on operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and best-known methods.
  • Establish consistent work practices that support safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Lead structured problem-solving activities (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, DMAIC).
  • Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, automation, or design modifications to enhance performance.
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement teams focusing on productivity, cycle time, and reliability.
  • Own the full lifecycle of assigned equipment, including specification, installation, qualification, maintenance strategy, performance optimization, and end-of-life planning.
  • Lead equipment acceptance, commissioning, and validation activities (FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ as applicable).
  • Define and maintain equipment specifications, tolerances, and capability standards.
  • Interface with and support controls systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and automation components.
  • Partner with controls or automation engineers to troubleshoot and optimize machine logic and sequences.
  • Evaluate and implement equipment parameter changes to improve performance and stability.
