About The Position

The Sales Engineer is responsible for interfacing directly with channel partner services and corporate purchasing managers to determine the best practices for consistent performance between distributor and supplier. Employees in this role will implement measurement programs in the areas of delivery, functional, administrative quality, business systems, operational capabilities, and compliance to terms with general support. Serves as a key technical and commercial support resource ensuring alignment with customer expectations, program requirements, and contractual commitments. Manages the customer scorecard, quarterly performance checkpoints, customer surveys, and customer portal maintenance. Supports all commercial activities for engineering changes, customer portal entries, price hygiene, piece price variance, and on time quotations. Acts as a liaison between customers and internal teams (engineering, operations, quality, supply chain) to ensure proactive communication and timely resolution of commercial and technical matters. Ensures adherence to customer-specific processes, standards, and reporting requirements while driving consistency across customer interactions and deliverables. Supports ongoing customer relationships by monitoring performance, identifying risks or gaps, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and program success.

Requirements

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in visits to existing and new customers
  • Assists with assessing customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services
  • Responds to customer enquiries; and conclude sales orders to meet established revenue targets
  • Begin to develop sales skills and knowledge of the organization's products, services, and customers
  • Participates in supplier audits on site at distributor warehouse locations
  • Initiate regular communication with distributors to mitigate shipment errors and discrepancies
