About The Position

Carrier Enterprise (CE) is seeking an experienced Commercial Sales Engineer to join their team. This role involves acting as a technical sales consultant to engineers, architects, contractors, and owners/developers, focusing on the design, application, and sale of unitary heating and ventilation systems, controls, and related materials across their distributor network. The company is a leading national distributor of residential and light commercial HVAC products, parts, and supplies, serving customers through licensed HVAC/R dealers and contractors.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven technical sales, HVAC sales experience
  • An undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical discipline
  • Solid understanding of HVAC principles
  • Verifiable experience with specified products
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficient with a PC and Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency with CRM/Database tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with contractors is desired
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid problem-solving abilities with the competence to make recommendations

Responsibilities

  • Contact and call on consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, architects, and owners to achieve annual sales and gross margin goals
  • Conduct sales, design, and application training to key decision makers
  • Work with specifying engineers and design-build contractors to help specify CE products
  • Create new business through organized prospecting and increase our share of business from assigned territory
  • Conduct take-offs of plans and specifications; develop and price estimates, write the proposal and bid jobs
  • Participate in local and regional trade organizations and trade shows
  • Provide and/or coordinate technical and product training to customers
