This role is for a problem solver with an application engineering and/or programming background in BAS controls to support Acuity's network of System Integrators and End-User customers with the adoption of the best technology in the industry. This position is Remote (work from home) and does require company-paid travel. The individual will work directly with System Integrators, End User Customers, and Regional Sales Managers to create and manage their own schedule of commitments.

Requirements

  • Exceptional knowledge and understanding of the Tridium Niagara Framework. EC-Net (The Distech Brand of Tridium Niagara) is a cornerstone of a Distech Controls solution.
  • Confidence in the ability to take a station from scratch with no templates to a complete automation system.
  • Solid fundamental understanding of HVAC systems.
  • Ability to think logically and write programs for HVAC control.
  • Knack for explaining often tough and complicated topics in layman’s terms.
  • Fundamental understanding of protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, Lonworks.
  • Fundamental understanding of MSTP and IP networking.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with IoT integrations and API’s.
  • Ability to write code in computer programming languages such as Python, Java, C++.
  • Personal hobbies include tinkering, building, or creating.
  • Advanced understanding of IP networking.
  • Experience with Linux and or Docker/Containers.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the product subject matter expert and dynamic thinker for the Sales Team.
  • Engage in various support activities including New Product Introductions.
  • Conduct tech-focused sessions, webinars, and lunch and learns.
  • Support new customer onboardings.
  • Attend industry trade shows.
  • Provide product feature demonstrations.
  • Deliver supplemental product training.
  • Support projects that are adopting new technology for the first time.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to stay informed about product capabilities, advancements, and limitations.
