About The Position

NXA is seeking a Sales Engineer of Industrial Equipment to build and grow relationships with businesses seeking stainless-steel fabrication. This role combines customer relationship management, technical equipment expertise, project coordination, and product management to develop and manage custom stainless-steel equipment solutions from customer requirements and drawings through final fabrication and installation. The Sales Engineer will evaluate customer requirements, develop equipment specifications, prepare quotations and technical proposals, coordinate with production throughout the manufacturing process, and provide technical support before, during, and after installation. This position will also serve as the Product Manager during and post installation and will actively identify opportunities to improve product strategy, operational efficiency, and financial performance.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, build, grow, and manage industrial equipment customer relationships.
  • Ability to understand customer equipment needs and translate customer requirements and drawings into practical fabricated solutions.
  • Technical knowledge of industrial equipment, including applications, sizing, materials, and fabrication.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and other CAD software to develop, review, and approve equipment designs.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, product demonstrations, and product documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with customers, production teams, industry partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 65% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect sales opportunities for industrial stainless-steel equipment.
  • Build, grow, and manage a portfolio of industrial equipment clientele.
  • Confer with clients and potential clients to understand their industrial equipment needs.
  • Translate customer needs and drawings into practical, high-quality fabricated solutions.
  • Apply technical and industrial equipment expertise to understand equipment solutions, including use, size, materials, fabrication, and related requirements.
  • Use SolidWorks and other CAD software, and/or pencil and paper, to develop and review engineering drawings of equipment solutions.
  • Review and approve equipment designs and identify issues prior to releasing designs to fabrication.
  • Work with the Production Team to reduce fabrication time, lower cost, and increase annual production capacity.
  • Conduct testing and final inspection of equipment before shipment.
  • Serve as Product Manager during and post installation, including responding to installation needs, changes, issues, and warranty needs.
  • Ensure industrial equipment meets applicable industry compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations.
  • Develop product documentation including owner’s manual, exploded views, assembly and sub-assembly drawings, bills of materials with part numbers, safety instructions, and spare parts lists.
  • Stay current on relevant competitive industrial equipment solutions and equipment.
  • Serve as the industrial equipment liaison between the client and NXA USA.
  • Travel approximately 65% of the time.
  • Build, grow, and manage a portfolio of industrial equipment clients looking to outsource some or all of their stainless-steel fabrication needs, including startups, farm and food industry equipment companies, and general stainless-steel industrial equipment customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure industrial equipment plans align with manufacturing capabilities, capacity, and operational constraints.
  • Actively identify opportunities for improvement and submit innovative ideas to leadership that enhance product strategy, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Work collaboratively with the team, communicate openly, and remain accountable for completing work and meeting customer expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
