About The Position

Simmonds Precision is seeking a high-performing Sales Engineer to accelerate growth within its $200M+ Fuels & Proximity Business Unit. This role is designed for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced aerospace environment, enjoys building executive relationships, and is motivated by winning new business. The ideal candidate is commercially driven, technically competent, and comfortable engaging airlines, OEMs, MROs, distributors, and leasing companies worldwide. This position will play a key role in delivering the business unit’s strategic objective of 4.5%+ year-over-year growth. This is a highly customer-facing position requiring 50–70% global travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Aviation, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of aerospace sales, sales engineering, business development, or account management experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to communicate complex aerospace products and systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally 50–70% of the time.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple customer priorities.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing relationships with commercial airlines, aerospace OEMs, or major MRO organizations.
  • Established network within the aerospace industry.
  • Experience supporting commercial aftermarket products.
  • Knowledge of aircraft fuel systems, sensors, proximity systems, or electromechanical aerospace components.
  • Experience with Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, ATR, Bombardier, or regional aircraft platforms.
  • Familiarity with aerospace distribution channels and international sales.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive bookings and revenue growth across the commercial aerospace aftermarket.
  • Identify and close new business opportunities with airlines, OEMs, MROs, leasing companies, and aerospace distributors.
  • Maintain executive-level relationships with key customer decision makers.
  • Generate and manage a healthy sales pipeline that consistently supports quarterly and annual growth objectives.
  • Lead technical and commercial customer discussions, product presentations, and business reviews.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Program Management, Customer Service, Operations, and Product Management to deliver customer solutions.
  • Develop pricing strategies, commercial proposals, and long-term agreements.
  • Analyze market trends, fleet data, competitive activity, and customer demand to identify growth opportunities.
  • Represent Simmonds Precision at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences worldwide.
  • Support strategic campaigns for OEM production programs, retrofit opportunities, and aftermarket growth initiatives.
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts and pipeline updates using CRM tools.
