Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Chapter 2New York, NY
$65,000 - $80,000Remote

About The Position

Chapter 2 is an embedded talent business that partners with high-growth startups and scale-ups across the US and Europe. They embed senior recruiters directly into client teams under a Talent OS model, combining recruitment, employer branding, and technology. Their clients are typically Series A–D companies in SaaS, deep tech, and healthcare that need to scale quickly without the overhead of a full internal TA team. Chapter 2 has grown to over 160 people globally in under four years, and is now building its US business. This role is for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to own pipeline generation for both the East and West Coasts of the US. The SDR will identify, engage, and qualify potential clients, working directly with the US co-founder to close deals. The role emphasizes uncapped earning potential and offers the opportunity to build a career in sales from the ground up. The company uses AI extensively in its outreach workflows and aims to build its presence in the US startup ecosystem. There is a clear path for rapid development, with the potential to transition into a full 360 sales role within 12 months.

Requirements

  • Experience from an RPO, embedded talent provider, or recruitment agency (e.g., Talentful, Paraform, Karat, a boutique exec search firm, or similar).
  • Understanding of what embedded recruiting means and why companies choose it over contingency.
  • Tapped into the US startup ecosystem, understanding how Series A companies think about talent and the value of a Talent OS.
  • Knowledge of the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP): Heads of Talent, Senior Talent Managers, Chief People Officers, including their challenges and language.
  • Extensive use of AI for personalized outreach at scale, account intelligence, and sequencing automation.
  • High agency and a proactive approach to identifying and acting on opportunities.
  • Ambitious and comfortable with risk, motivated by uncapped earning potential.
  • Exceptional communication skills: crisp written outreach, confident on calls, ability to articulate a complex value proposition simply and fast.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, as the US business is currently being built without an established playbook.

Responsibilities

  • Own outbound across the East and West Coast — building pipeline into high-growth startups and scale-ups that need embedded talent solutions.
  • Identify and engage Heads of Talent, Senior Talent Managers, and Chief People Officers at Series A–D companies.
  • Qualify rigorously to ensure every conversation that goes to our co-founder is genuinely worth their time.
  • Use AI natively across your outreach workflow — from account research and hyper-personalized sequencing to automating admin.
  • Build Chapter 2’s presence in the US startup ecosystem through LinkedIn, events, and communities.
  • Develop rapidly, with the potential to transition into a full 360 role responsible for opening and closing deals within 12 months.
