About The Position

Mention Me is seeking a driven, outbound-focused Founding Sales Development Representative (SDR) to spearhead new business pipeline generation within the US market. This role involves prospecting into e-commerce brands that align with Mention Me's Ideal Customer Profile, utilizing a blend of targeted outreach and AI for personalized scaling. The SDR will research target accounts, conduct qualification calls with senior marketing decision-makers, identify pain points, and adapt Mention Me's pitch accordingly. Collaboration with the London-based Sales, Marketing, and Partnerships teams on multi-touch campaigns is essential, alongside maintaining CRM data integrity and optimizing outreach strategies. As the founding US SDR, this individual will not only meet quotas but also contribute to understanding the US market, refining messaging for American e-commerce brands, and establishing the foundation for a larger US sales presence.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of outbound SDR experience, with a proven track record of booking and converting qualified opportunities.
  • Experience selling to e-commerce brands and understanding the challenges faced by marketing and acquisition teams in that space.
  • A true hunter mentality — motivated by targets, driven by growth, and comfortable picking up the phone.
  • Experience in SaaS, marketing technology, or agency environments.
  • Solution-oriented: able to understand a brand’s challenges and position Mention Me’s offering as the solution.
  • Excellent communication skills — articulate, persuasive, and engaging both in writing and on calls.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote role, collaborating with a team across time zones.
  • Excited by the idea of being a founding hire and helping shape how Mention Me shows up in the US market.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively prospect and qualify new business opportunities through calls, emails, Apollo, and LinkedIn outreach, employing a creative, persona-led approach that directly connects the offering to prospect pain points.
  • Research and target high-potential e-commerce brands across the US that align with Mention Me’s Ideal Customer Profile.
  • Confidently introduce Mention Me’s suite of products and tailor pitches to each prospect’s specific marketing challenges.
  • Book and run qualification calls with key decision-makers, uncover pain points, and set up high-quality meetings for Account Executives.
  • Collaborate with the London-based Marketing, Partnerships, and Sales teams to build multi-touch campaigns and accelerate pipeline growth.
  • Act as Mention Me’s eyes and ears in the US market, providing intel on how American e-commerce brands discuss acquisition, referral, and growth.
  • Maintain CRM data accuracy, track outreach metrics, and continuously optimize for better conversion rates.
  • Utilize AI tools to personalize outreach and operate efficiently at scale.
  • Meet and exceed monthly activity targets and qualified opportunity goals.
