About The Position

Archistar is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join its growing North American team. The role involves introducing municipalities across North America to Archistar's AI PreCheck technology, which aims to modernize planning and building approvals, improve permitting, and accelerate housing and development. The ideal candidate will have experience in GovTech, public-sector technology, or selling into government, and will be adept at understanding customer challenges and building relationships. This position is crucial for Archistar's growth in North America, working closely with Regional Sales Directors and the Government Solutions team to identify opportunities and initiate meaningful conversations with municipalities.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in sales development, business development, or a similar commercial role, ideally within GovTech or public-sector technology.
  • Experience engaging government or municipal customers and an understanding of public sector operations.
  • Exposure to SaaS, enterprise technology, civic technology, or digital government solutions.
  • Understanding of government sales cycles, stakeholders, and procurement environments.
  • Proven experience in prospecting and generating new business opportunities.
  • Confidence in communicating with senior and operational government stakeholders via phone, email, and LinkedIn.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to translate information into relevant conversations.
  • Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools.
  • A track record of meeting activity, pipeline, or opportunity targets.
  • Experience within permitting, planning, land management, building approvals, GIS, regulatory technology, or municipal software is particularly valuable.

Responsibilities

  • Research municipalities and government organizations across Canada and the United States to identify new opportunities.
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers in planning, building, permitting, technology, and digital transformation within cities.
  • Develop new relationships through phone, email, LinkedIn, industry events, and targeted outbound campaigns.
  • Initiate informed conversations about municipal challenges and how technology can provide solutions.
  • Qualify opportunities and collaborate with Regional Sales Directors to advance them.
  • Build and nurture relationships with prospective customers, considering longer government buying cycles.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on targeted campaigns, events, and market initiatives.
  • Research new regions, government priorities, and emerging opportunities within the GovTech market.
  • Maintain disciplined CRM, pipeline, and activity management.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Archistar's technology and its unique selling propositions.
  • Contribute ideas for smarter customer engagement strategies.
