Sales Development Representative

KizenNew York City, NY
$70,000 - $85,000Hybrid

About The Position

AI isn’t coming to enterprise sales — it’s already here. And at Kizen, we’re building the platform that makes it actually work for the industries that need it most: Insurance, Financial Services, and Healthcare. We’re looking for hungry, disciplined SDRs who want to be on the front lines of this movement — not watching from the sidelines. We are looking for a hands-on Sales Development Representative (SDR) with a history of high-volume outbound prospecting and a genuine curiosity about how technology transforms complex industries. This is your chance to break into enterprise AI sales at a company where your pipeline directly fuels a growth engine to $50M+. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for someone who wants to be at the heart of the AI movement to better humanity. As the SDR, you’ll be working directly with our VP of GTM and AE team to build the outbound pipeline that powers Kizen’s expansion into Insurance (FMOs, MGAs, Carriers, Call Centers), Financial Services (banks, wealth management, mortgage), and Healthcare. In this high-impact role, you’ll own the front end of Kizen’s revenue engine: Outbound Prospecting into Named Accounts — You’ll research, identify, and engage decision-makers at Tier 1 and Tier 2 FMOs, carriers, MGAs, banks, and healthcare organizations. You’ll run multi-channel outbound sequences (cold calls, email, LinkedIn, events) to generate qualified meetings for our Enterprise AE team. Pipeline Generation & Qualification — You’ll be responsible for generating $250K–$500K+ in qualified pipeline per month (ramped), with a target of 12–15 qualified meetings booked monthly. You’ll qualify prospects against Kizen’s ICP and hand off warm, well-researched opportunities to AEs. Market Intelligence & Account Research — You’ll become an expert in your assigned vertical (Insurance or Financial Services), understanding the competitive landscape (SureLC, AgentSync, Vertafore), industry pain points, and regulatory dynamics that create buying urgency. Cross-Functional Collaboration — You’ll partner closely with Marketing on event follow-ups, inbound lead triage, and content-driven prospecting. You’ll share frontline intelligence on objections, market trends, and competitor positioning to shape our GTM strategy.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of outbound SDR/BDR experience in B2B SaaS, enterprise technology, or a related high-velocity outbound sales role (InsurTech, FinTech, or HealthTech experience strongly preferred)
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding activity and pipeline targets — we want to see the numbers: meetings booked/month, pipeline generated, conversion rates
  • Experience prospecting into complex organizations with multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles ($80K–$500K+ deal sizes)
  • Proficiency with modern sales tech stack: CRM platforms (we use Kizen’s AI-native CRM), sales engagement platforms (Apollo, Outreach, Salesloft), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and Gong
  • Strong cold calling skills — you’re comfortable and effective on the phone, not just behind a keyboard
  • Excellent written communication for email sequences, LinkedIn messaging, and internal handoff documentation
  • Intellectual curiosity about AI, enterprise software, and regulated industries (Insurance, Financial Services, Healthcare) — you want to understand the “why” behind what you’re selling, not just the pitch
  • Self-starter mentality with strong time management — you can prioritize a large territory and named account list without needing to be micromanaged
  • Coachable and competitive — you actively seek feedback, review your own Gong calls, and treat every “no” as data
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment where processes are still being built and your input shapes how we go to market
  • NYC-based or willing to be in the NYC office regularly
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (we care more about results and hustle than pedigree)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling into the Insurance distribution ecosystem (FMOs, MGAs, carriers, call centers) or Financial Services (banks, wealth management, mortgage lenders)
  • Familiarity with AI/ML platforms, workflow automation, or enterprise data tools
  • Conference/event-based lead generation experience
  • Experience in a company scaling from $5M–$30M+ ARR

Responsibilities

  • Outbound Pipeline Development Execute 50–60+ outbound activities per day across calls, emails, LinkedIn, and social selling to target named accounts in your assigned vertical (Insurance, FinServ, or Healthcare)
  • Build and manage multi-touch prospecting sequences that drive 12–15 qualified meetings per month when fully ramped (6–8 during ramp)
  • Generate $250K–$500K in qualified pipeline per month at steady state, contributing to an annual pipeline target of $3M+
  • Research and map accounts to identify the right personas: VP/Dir of Operations, CTO, COO, Head of Contracting, Head of Distribution at FMOs, carriers, and financial institutions
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads using BANT/MEDDIC frameworks before passing to AEs, ensuring every meeting is well-researched with context on the prospect’s pain, timeline, and decision process
  • Maintain a show rate of 80%+ on booked meetings through strong pre-call engagement and confirmation cadences
  • Prepare detailed meeting briefs for AEs: account background, key contacts, identified pain points, competitive intel, and recommended talking points
  • Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene in Kizen’s own platform — you’ll be selling the product you use every day, giving you firsthand insight into the value you’re pitching to prospects
  • Use Gong for call review and self-coaching; Apollo/ZoomInfo/LinkedIn Sales Nav for prospecting and contact enrichment
  • Track and report on personal KPIs weekly: dials, conversations, meetings booked, meetings held, pipeline generated, and conversion rates
  • Develop deep vertical expertise in your assigned market — understand how FMOs contract agents, how carriers manage distribution, how banks handle document classification, or how healthcare organizations manage patient workflows
  • Track competitor activity (SureLC, AgentSync, Vertafore) and feed real-time intel to Marketing, Product, and AE teams
  • Attend industry events and conferences (ConnectureDRX, ICE Mortgage, HLTH, etc.) to generate leads and build relationships

  • Engaging Work Culture
  • Top-Tier Compensation
  • Equity Package
  • Healthcare Coverage
  • Health and Fitness Stipend
