About The Position

The Sales Consultant will be responsible for attending training on company products, business, and sales techniques, and applying learned skills. This role involves proactively developing new customer relationships through various methods such as cold calling, telemarketing, networking, referrals, and utilizing organized lists. The consultant will travel within their assigned territory to engage with existing and prospective customers to identify current or future opportunities. A key aspect of the role is managing current customer clientele through monthly/quarterly reviews, providing recommendations, status reports, service reports, and leasing/service contract data. The Sales Consultant will evaluate customer business scenarios, qualify needs, and develop solutions leveraging the company's hardware, software, and services. They will work closely with clients throughout the sales cycle, deliver exceptional customer service, and build relationships within client organizations. This position requires meeting sales goals set by management, maintaining sales data in the company CRM, and developing strategic sales plans. Responsibilities also include quoting prices, preparing sales contracts, coordinating follow-up, estimating delivery dates, preparing business transaction reports, managing expense accounts, and maintaining an updated personal calendar. Regular, predictable physical attendance is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Four (4) years prior business to business experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Attend initial and ongoing training on company products, business, and sales techniques.
  • Retain and apply skills and knowledge learned in training sessions.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers/clients and proactively develop new customer relationships through cold calling, telemarketing, networking events, referrals, and organized lists.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers to solicit current or future opportunities.
  • Manage current customer clientele providing monthly/quarterly reviews, best practices recommendations, areas for improvement, status reports, service reports and leasing/service contract data.
  • Evaluate customers’ business scenarios, qualify customers’ needs and develop solutions using all core competencies of the company including hardware, software and services.
  • Work closely with clients during all phases of the sales cycle.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both clients and potential clients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with multiple positions within the organization.
  • Meet objectively set sales goals determined by Sales Manager and Branch Manager.
  • Maintain all data regarding sales calls, forecast business and customer files in the company provided CRM according to standards set by the company.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate personal and corporate goals.
  • Quote prices and credit terms, prepare sales contracts for orders obtained and coordinate all follow-up.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of the company’s production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts.
  • Maintain a personal calendar and keep it updated daily.
  • Regular, physical attendance on a predictable basis is essential to the performance of this job.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management.
