The Compensation Analyst is a field facing role that is accountable for maintaining high-quality relationships with all levels of the sales organization. This individual will be responsible for gathering data from multiple sources, conducting analysis, and making risked based decisions that maintain profitability and compliance. Responsibilities also include providing support and direction to all levels of the sales organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.
  • One or more years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Skilled in computer operations, Microsoft software proficiency, virtual communication, system-based applications, and general technology.
  • Ability to develop an extensive understanding of Colonial Life’s sales organization including compensation plans, commission schedules, incentive programs, and available contracts.
  • Proficient in communicating and interacting effectively with all levels of the sales organization and home office employees, including senior management, through strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present information in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Maintaining a customer focus while seeking opportunities to support and educate our sales organization on compensation and incentives to support sales growth.
  • Strong coordination and facilitation skills when identifying a problem and providing a solution.
  • Possess excellent teamwork, collaboration skills, problem solving, decision-making, time management, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a focused work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Explain contractual agreements and provisions to various partners in the sales organization and the home office related to commissions and compliance, then make recommendations or decisions as needed based on bonus, compensation, and sales crediting guidelines.
  • Make risk based financial decisions based on the interpretation of data including sales credit, compensation plans and compliance guidelines regarding account and agent-based situations while negotiating to ensure profitability.
  • Explain Colonial Life’s enrollment capabilities and the process for submitting business including the impacts to Service Operations, Underwriting and Growth Markets and how it effects commissions.
  • Build strong working relationships with the Colonial Life sales organization as well as home office partners to drive growth opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of positive customer service through knowledge and support of our sales organization and home office partners.
  • Provide comprehensive support to all levels of the sales organization in understanding and utilizing apps and tools for viewing and tracking their commissions, bonuses, and sales production.
  • Manage account-level commission adjustments while applying contractual and financial principles, ensuring accurate impact assessment on commissions and bonuses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
