This is an intermittent position with a work schedule of 0-19 hours per week. The Sales Clerk is responsible for welcoming customers, maintaining product knowledge, and assisting with merchandise selection. They must react quickly to customer concerns, sell merchandise, and provide outstanding customer service, which may involve demonstrating technical features of items. The role also includes taking periodic stock counts, participating in inventories, replenishing stock, and maintaining merchandise presentation. The Sales Clerk will advise supervisors of customer requests. Additionally, they will handle various payment methods (cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, gift cards), operate a cash register, give accurate change, and balance the till at the end of each shift, turning in sales records and all monies. The position may also involve performing price changes (markdowns/markups) and setting up company promotions, ensuring proper display and signage. A key aspect of the role is following all Loss Prevention policies, being aware of shrink, and adhering to the Alert Line. Safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements must also be followed. This role requires working weekends and performing other related duties as assigned.
