About The Position

The Sales - Business Development Manager role focuses on developing sales strategies, initiating contact with potential customers, building relationships, and driving sales. This position involves identifying customer needs, presenting product information, moving leads through the sales funnel, and ensuring customer satisfaction through follow-up. Collaboration with account managers and sales executives is key to meeting company goals. The role also includes customer demographic updates, communicating industry intelligence, and securing shelf space for company initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills.
  • Good time management and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University and/or 5+ years of sales experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, with a clean and safe driving record.
  • 80%-90% Travel required.

  • Successful completion of coursework in sales techniques and communication may be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales strategies to draw in potential buyers or to solicit new potential customers.
  • Initiating contact with potential customers through cold-calling or responding to inquiries generated from Account Managers.
  • Creating relationships with customers to identify their potential needs and qualify their interests and viability to drive sales.
  • Presenting product information to customers once you have identified their needs.
  • Moving solid leads through the sales funnel, connecting them to a salesperson, and arranging in-person meetings, emails, or phone calls.
  • Following up with potential customers who expressed interest but did not purchase any goods or services.
  • Performing regular follow-up calls or emails and facilitating communication with existing customers to ensure their satisfaction and identify new potential needs.
  • Collaborating with account managers and sales executives to ensure the company's goals and targets are met.
  • Deliver AEP Value Proposition, instruct customers re: login to websites, how to use the web; ordering, invoice
  • Customer demographic updates in CRM and communicate industry intel
  • Secure shelf space for displays and other company initiatives
