About The Position

The Sales Associate is responsible for providing quality customer service and driving product sales. The associate is knowledgeable about each product area or department, upholds the policies, procedures, and standards in the visual manual, and promotes sales and promotions. As an ambassador for the organization and brand, the associate helps create a distinctive customer experience and acquire and retain customers. The role focuses on outstanding customer service and merchandise promotion. This is a part-time, non-exempt position in the Operations department at the Roosevelt Gardens location in Norfolk, Virginia. The position reports to the Store Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

0–2 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks precisely.
Team player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

Provide extraordinary customer service, including welcoming customers and assisting multiple customers during peak periods.
Promote and sell the organization's services and merchandise.
Set goals to improve selling skills and track overall sales.
Follow company policies, procedures, and standards in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals, as well as company memos.
Assist with daily store operations, including work lists, cleanup lists, weekly shipments, and store maintenance.
Present merchandise to promote and sell goods, following guidance in the product knowledge manual.
Achieve and/or exceed sales targets and goals.
Identify and communicate merchandise needs, pricing concerns, and operational problems to store management.
Attend all store staff meetings and tech clinics.
Protect company assets and financial information by following internal control procedures and reporting potential fraud risks to management or appropriate officials.
