About The Position

Talbots is seeking a part-time Sales Associate for its Robinson Town Centre store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Sales Associate provides exceptional customer service, promotes products, builds customer relationships, and supports the store’s sales and operational goals. The role involves assisting multiple customers, using fashion and product knowledge to create outfit recommendations, supporting store operations and inventory processes, and occasionally leading or supervising others and opening or closing the store. Associates are expected to participate in learning opportunities and respond to coaching and feedback. The position description describes the general nature of the work and may change.

Requirements

Excellent verbal communication skills and a high level of integrity.
Ability to work cooperatively in a diverse work environment.
Ability to climb ladders, move around regularly, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to bend, reach, stretch for products, and lift, carry, and move at least 40 pounds.
Technological aptitude to use POS, computer, iPad, and handheld systems.
Flexible availability based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide an exceptional customer service experience that promotes products and builds brand relationships.
Assist the management team in building store business.
Serve multiple customers at a time and handle concurrent tasks or projects.
Stay informed about fashion trends, new arrivals, and product details such as fit, color, and style.
Use product knowledge and fashion expertise to create outfits and recommend items suited to customers’ needs.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships that support a productive environment.
Communicate store information, brand initiatives, discrepancies, and other relevant information to management.
Achieve sales and service metrics, including Talbots Classic Awards.
Participate in learning opportunities and accept direction, coaching, and feedback.
Support operational excellence and manage inventory according to procedures, including filling orders, recalls, recovery, replenishment, and re-ticketing.
Plan and prioritize tasks to meet customer and business needs.
Lead or supervise others on occasion and open and/or close the store.
Understand customer needs and wants through intentional conversation.
