About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate in the Plumbing department, you welcome customers to Lowe’s and help them find products and services for home improvement projects. You listen to customers, answer questions, help them select and handle merchandise, and work to ensure their needs are met. Duties may include replenishing shelves, processing orders and deliveries, preparing merchandise such as cutting or threading pipe, guiding customers through shopping or checkout, and cross-training in other store areas. The role may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines, which limit single lifts to 75 pounds; use team lifts minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as plumbing.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
- Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
- Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare department merchandise based on customer needs, including cutting and threading pipe.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
