Sales Associate - Full Time
About The Position
The Sales Associate provides excellent customer service and performs duties necessary for the daily operations of a Goodwill Keystone Area retail store. The role is based at the Thorndale Store in Thorndale, Pennsylvania, in the Donated Goods Retail department, and reports to the Customer Service Manager. This is a full-time, non-exempt position paying $14.00 per hour. The associate supports a welcoming and safe store environment, represents Goodwill Keystone Area and its mission, and helps maintain an attractive and convenient sales floor. The position requires flexible scheduling across store operating hours, including evenings and weekends. No formal education is necessary; point-of-sale experience is preferred. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to read, write, hear, and speak.
- Ability to perform simple math.
- Ability to operate equipment such as a cash register and credit/debit machines.
- Ability to speak English to interact satisfactorily with donors and customers.
- Must present a neat and positive appearance.
- Ability to identify clothing sizes and gender-specific differences.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to stand continuously for more than 75% of the shift.
- Ability to push and pull racks requiring up to 20 pounds of force for up to 100 feet for 10% of the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions associated with cash register use every few seconds for more than 75% of the shift.
- Ability to repetitively lift textiles on hangers weighing up to 4 pounds at or above head level for 25% of the shift.

Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers and answer telephone calls in a positive, professional manner.
- Operate the cash register and process credit and debit transactions accurately and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Organize, color-coordinate, and rotate merchandise on the sales floor, maintaining an attractive and convenient layout, visual merchandising, and store cleanliness.
- Promote and represent Goodwill Keystone Area and its mission positively.
- Participate in organizational programs and special events.
- Support additional tasks and projects as needed.
- Promote workplace safety, perform duties safely, and adhere to safety requirements.
- Communicate progress, problems, and concerns to the Customer Service Manager.
