The primary responsibilities of this role include assisting customers with their building and construction supply needs, supporting store operations, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient sales floor. Requirements

  • Outstanding customer service skills, attention to detail and a professional, positive attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
  • Knowledge of effective sales techniques and customer engagement practices.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, including price lookups, special orders, and order entry.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong math, reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a busy work environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise and assist customers with loading products when required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers in person and over the phone with their building and construction supply needs.
  • Answer customer questions, help locate merchandise, and recommend additional products to help customers complete their projects.
  • Process special orders as needed.
  • Fulfill all follow-up promises, if any.
  • Inform customers about current promotions, upcoming sales events, and new products.
  • Merchandise products according to established planograms and maintain accurate sales signage.
  • Support fellow team members and assist with additional store tasks as needed.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to continually learn, grow product knowledge, and contribute to a positive shopping experience for every customer.
