About The Position

The Sales Associate assists the store management team with the overall operation and performance of the store, including sales, merchandising, and operations. The role supports animal well-being and contributes to store success by following operational standards, helping achieve sales goals, and ensuring efficient daily operations. Sales Associates strive to enhance the lives of pets and their people by providing friendly, knowledgeable service and helping customers select suitable food and accessories.

The position also involves maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment; caring for animals in the store; restocking merchandise; and completing tasks assigned by store management. Employees are expected to follow company policies and procedures and maintain a professional, positive attitude.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays according to business needs.
• Ability to perform physical duties, including repeated lifting of up to 55 pounds during a shift.
• Ability to spend most of the work time standing or moving around on the sales floor.
• Ability to actively listen and communicate with customers and employees, and actively observe while merchandising the store.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sales, service, and customer experience initiatives by demonstrating the company's selling and service models.
• Acknowledge, welcome, and thank customers in a friendly and timely manner.
• Help customers select products and answer questions about food, accessories, and other products for their pets.
• Comply with Brand Standards and follow company policies and procedures.
• Work with the store team to meet or exceed targeted sales goals and support daily store operations.
• Clean pet enclosures and ensure animals have appropriate food and water.
• Support maintenance of the fish system.
• Restock merchandise on shelves and fixtures and move products from the stockroom to the sales floor.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude when communicating with customers and employees.
• Complete tasks and other duties assigned by store management.
