About The Position

The Sales Associate works in Goodwill retail operations, serving as a customer-facing member of the sales team in a collaborative environment. The role supports the community and offers opportunities to learn and advance in a career. The associate provides courteous customer service, supports sales-floor merchandise presentation, operates the register, maintains merchandise and store areas, and performs general housekeeping duties.

Requirements

Effectively communicate with customers and GGW associates.
Provide exceptional customer service to all customers.
Settle customer complaints.
Perform basic math skills.
Stand for prolonged periods, up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift.
Bend and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
Have basic working knowledge of computer applications and the internet.

Nice To Haves

At least six months of previous work experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working in a retail environment.
Excellent customer-service-related skills.
Working knowledge of a cash register.
Complete fluency in English and multilingual ability.

Responsibilities

Provide professional and courteous service to customers in and around the store and by phone.
Ensure merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner.
Ring items accurately on the register.
Handle cash accurately, including making change and operating and maintaining the cash register, card machine, and calculator.
Maintain knowledge of merchandise and answer customer questions courteously and promptly.
Keep floor merchandise neat and orderly, including racks, shelves, bins, and hangers, and help customers with purchase selections.
Maintain a clean, professional appearance.
Keep the register area orderly and clean.
Maintain familiarity with store security procedures and exercise security practices when necessary.
Perform housekeeping, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting, including restrooms and dressing rooms.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
