About The Position

The Sales Associate role involves promoting and selling merchandise, working directly with customers, and ensuring customer needs are met through effective communication and product knowledge. This position requires a flexible schedule and offers a commission-based pay structure after an initial training period. The role also involves collaborating with other departments to provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

Ability to lift merchandise of 40lbs to move furniture.
Ability to assist in loading furniture for customers.
Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to listen and respond to customer’s needs.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
Positive attitude when working with internal and external customers.
Knowledge of employment and merchandise handling procedures.
Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
Lifting up to 40 lbs rarely, and/or up to 10 lbs occasionally to move objects.

Sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Promote and sell merchandise displayed on the showroom floor.
Work directly with internal and external customers.
Follow up with customer orders and inquiries.
Assist with merchandise problems in conjunction with customer service and warehouse operations.
Work with other departments to ensure customer needs are met.
Ask customers questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses to understand their needs.
Explain product features and benefits to customers.
Prepare sales tickets for orders.
Assist customers in making product selections based on their specifications.
Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
Describe merchandise and explain its use, operation, and care to customers.
Stay educated on new products, policies, and store advertisements.
Utilize knowledge of methods for showing, promoting, and selling products.
Use excellent customer relations.
Follow up with customers by email and phone.
Perform any other duties as directed by management.
