Sales Associates promote and sell merchandise displayed on the showroom floor, working directly with internal and external customers. They follow up on customer orders and inquiries, and assist with any problems associated with merchandise in conjunction with customer service and warehouse operations. Sales Associates work on an organizational level with other departments to ensure customer needs are met. They ask customers questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses to understand customer needs, and explain product features in a way the customer will understand, highlighting benefits based on their needs. They prepare sales tickets for orders, assist customers in making product selections based on their specifications, and recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise. They describe merchandise and explain its use, operation, and care to customers. Sales Associates must stay educated on new products, policies, and store advertisements. They should have knowledge of methods for showing, promoting, and selling products. Some Sales Associates may perform "house calls," traveling to a customer’s home to help design a catalog of products for review and purchase, fitting their home décor. They must use excellent customer relations and follow up with customers by email and phone. Any other duties as directed by management will also be performed.
