ARG Sales Associate
About The Position
The Sales Associate assists with receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise and helps maintain clean, orderly merchandise displays and overall store cleanliness. The role provides customer service by helping customers throughout the store with personalized assistance, answering calls and pages courteously, sharing product and store-layout knowledge, and referring unresolved complaints to management. The Sales Associate also supports store operations, including merchandise maintenance, signage, resets, back-stock levels, and a safe, professional work environment. The position is with Ace Retail Group, which owns and operates several Ace brands, including Westlake Ace Hardware.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb.
- Ability to demonstrate and incorporate the company’s Core Values into daily decisions and interactions.

- Formal retail experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Represent Westlake Ace Hardware positively and provide friendly, customized customer assistance throughout the store.
- Greet customers, help solve problems, thank customers, answer pages and calls promptly, and refer complaints that cannot be handled to management.
- Maintain knowledge of products, store layout, and product locations.
- Assist with receiving, checking in, stocking, and pricing merchandise throughout the store.
- Help maintain back-stock levels and keep the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise area clean and orderly.
- Maintain sales-floor presentation, including end caps and advertised merchandise, and assist with merchandise resets.
- Assist Department Specialists with price changes and special orders.
- Ensure store signage is current.
- Operate a forklift after receiving proper training.
- Communicate Store Support Center issues and merchandising, cost-control, or sales ideas to the General Manager.
- Participate in store meetings and maintain professional appearance and conduct.
- Help create a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Incorporate the company’s Core Values into daily decisions and interactions.
