About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you welcome customers and help them find products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, help locate and select merchandise, and may occasionally load merchandise. Associates work in a department assigned according to store hiring needs and skillsets, which may include Outside Lawn & Garden or other listed store departments. The role also involves organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, and preparing products to meet customer needs. Department responsibilities may vary. The position may involve work inside and outside in changing weather conditions, exposure to noise and moving equipment, and occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or lift more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help provide customer service.
- Prepare merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
