About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other assigned responsibilities. The role is expected to be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a results-oriented approach. Associates help customers select appropriate merchandise, maintain DTLR standards, support store operations and loss prevention, and contribute to a neat and orderly sales environment. A standard work week is 35 to 40 hours.

Requirements

Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work under minimal supervision and take charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style-trend knowledge and an interest in working with customers in a retail setting.
A track record of building and working as part of a team, handling responsibility, and understanding the needs of the street-lifestyle customer.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail or customer-service work experience is preferred but not necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships and assist customers professionally, courteously, attentively, honestly, and responsively.
Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable assistance in selecting products.
Use basic fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise while maintaining DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and identifying loss or inconsistencies to help meet shrink goals at or below the company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support training employees in suggested-selling and merchandising techniques.
Minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft and following loss-prevention and security procedures.
Follow point-of-sale procedures, balance money received during assignments, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and other information needed for effective management.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
