About The Position

The Part Time Sales Associate supports store sales performance, delivers exceptional customer experiences, and carries out day-to-day store operations. The role involves applying customer engagement strategies and maintaining merchandising standards to create a positive in-store experience. The position is at the Lee Wrangler store at Tanger Outlets in North Myrtle Beach and requires at least 12 hours of availability per week, including one weekend day. Additional availability is a plus. The Sales Associate provides customer service and product guidance, supports sales and loyalty enrollment goals, maintains the sales floor and merchandising, and assists with store operations, transactions, safety, and loss prevention. The role requires regular standing and movement, lifting and carrying merchandise, and using store equipment and technology.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be available for at least 12 hours per week, including one weekend day.
Ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts and work a flexible schedule to meet business needs.
Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and team members.
Ability to operate office equipment and technology, including cash registers, computers, phones, and scanners.
Ability to stand and move throughout the store during scheduled shifts.
Ability to lift or maneuver 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to push and pull full racks of merchandise.
Ability to reach, stretch, bend, stoop, and crouch to retrieve items, restock, and maintain store cleanliness.
Ability to use fine manipulation and grasp hands to sort and organize clothing.
Vision to read labels accurately, assist customers, and complete tasks requiring attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service in accordance with company retail standards and create an in-store experience aligned with company expectations.
Initiate conversations with customers to learn their interests and recommend products.
Assist customers in the fitting room.
Use suggestive selling to recommend products aligned with customers’ needs and preferences and encourage purchases.
Promote the rewards program and achieve weekly loyalty sign-up goals.
Learn about new products and trends to better engage customers.
Achieve personal sales targets and contribute to overall store performance.
Provide information and advice about product performance, features, and specifications.
Maintain visual merchandising standards and keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well-stocked.
Assist with assigned daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Accurately process transactions, handle cash, and maintain point-of-sale integrity.
Follow company and store policies, processes, and procedures.
Respond quickly to customer or employee injuries and report them immediately to the manager on duty.
Participate in loss prevention audits and follow loss prevention policies to minimize store shrink.
Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and work a flexible schedule to meet business needs.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and team members.
Stand and move throughout the store; walk to assist customers, retrieve merchandise, and recover the store.
Lift and carry merchandise, push or pull full racks, and reach, stretch, bend, stoop, and crouch as needed for stocking and store upkeep.
Occasionally perform manual labor to assemble displays or rearrange the store layout.
Use fine manipulation and grasping to sort and organize clothing, including hanging, folding, and arranging items by color and size.
Read labels accurately and perform tasks requiring attention to detail.
