About The Position

The Sales Associate provides high-quality customer service through efficient sales and effective merchandising in a pleasant, clean retail environment. The position processes customer purchases and payments, assists customers using knowledge of inventory, promotions, and store policies, maintains organized merchandise and a tidy store, and supports loss prevention. The role is located in a normal retail store environment with typically moderate noise and frequent exposure to dust. Duties may change, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to speak and understand English.
• Ability to work with a diverse staff and customer base, including individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to determine when to refer a problem situation to a supervisor.
• Satisfactory results of all required background checks.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate/GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Previous retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process customer sales quickly and accurately on the cash register.
• Process cash transactions, customer checks, charges, and store credits, and accurately balance the register drawer.
• Provide customer service by knowing inventory, sale information, store policies and procedures, and related information.
• Keep merchandise neat and organized by distributing stock appropriately and pulling stock when necessary.
• Assess merchandise and make pricing recommendations to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
• Maintain an orderly store appearance by vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, washing mirrors, doors, and windows, and keeping the register area clean.
• Support loss prevention by monitoring dressing rooms and observing customers.
• Answer the store telephone.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
