About The Position
Turner's Outdoorsman is seeking a Sales Associate to assist Store Management. The role supports sales goals, customer satisfaction, and profitability, while promoting the Turner’s brand and company culture. The Sales Associate is expected to model professionalism in attitude and appearance and demonstrate strong communication and customer-service skills. Duties include customer service and sales, completing firearms paperwork within legal requirements, supporting merchandising and inventory, and loading and unloading deliveries. The role may also involve filling fishing reels, attending training seminars, and participating in promotions, sales, and events. Hours vary, overtime may be required, and occasional travel may be needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED.
- Fluent in English.
- Legally eligible to work in a firearms environment.
- At least 21 years old.
- Able to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Able to use both hands when handling a firearm.
- Able to use a computer proficiently and learn new software programs.
- Able to stand, sit, bend, and lift throughout a scheduled shift.
Nice To Haves
- College graduate or some college.
- Prior retail or sales experience and cash-handling experience.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Knowledge of hunting, fishing, or shooting sports.
Responsibilities
- Greet all customers.
- Complete required firearms paperwork within legal parameters.
- Create customer orders.
- Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate exceptional salesmanship.
- Maintain constant awareness of firearm safety.
- Assist with store merchandising changes.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Receive stock and merchandise.
- Participate in promotions, sales, and events.
- Potentially fill customer fishing reels using special machines and knot-tying techniques.
- Potentially participate in inventory tasks.
- Attend training seminars, including some off-site.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
