About The Position

As a Retail Associate, you serve as a Columbia Sportswear brand ambassador and help create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales skills to answer questions, recommend products, and support customer service and teamwork. Associates also help maintain product availability and store presentation, process transactions, and support efficient product flow while assisting the Store Leadership team in advancing the company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions.

Requirements

• No specific education is required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Two or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and according to location-specific business trends or forecasts, subject to applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions about product features, benefits, and availability, and learn about customers’ needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise, suggest suitable options, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Maintain visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety standards; retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Complete cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently to contribute to store profitability.
