About The Position
The Sales Associate serves as a point of contact for customers and helps maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets. The role includes assisting customers with locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking and recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and performing other duties assigned by the Store Manager. The position involves frequent walking and standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling. It also requires handling merchandise and store equipment, regularly lifting up to 40 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 55 pounds, and occasionally climbing a step ladder to heights of six feet. The work takes place in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
Requirements
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of safety policies and practices.
- Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
- Knowledge of basic cash-handling procedures.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to perform cash register functions.
- Ability to stock merchandise.
- Frequent walking and standing, and frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Ability to handle merchandise and equipment such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies, U-boats, and rolltainers.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to occasionally climb a step ladder to heights of six feet.

Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers.
- Operate a cash register and scanner to itemize purchases, collect payment, make change, and bag merchandise.
- Assist customers with merchandise as needed.
- Unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise according to company processes.
- Build merchandise displays and follow merchandise presentation guidance.
- Recover merchandise and help set up sidewalk displays.
- Clean the store, including taking out trash, dusting and mopping floors, and cleaning the restroom and receiving room.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
